Perfect -- from the title on down. I want to kidnap this fic and keep it, may I? Your Jess voice was wonderful. I do adore seeing Sam through the eyes of other people, and, considering the relationship they later developed, this was wonderful.
One point your brought up I'd never considered -- Sam not having a computer. We don't know exactly how the whole going-to-Stanford upfolded -- just bits and pieces in some of the episodes; but I can't imagine he'd have enough for a computer. And the full ride certainly didn't cover *that* expense. Or rent. Or incidentals. So of course he struggled, fell behind on things and had it about five times more difficult than his fellow students who had laptops and the like. (Of course, when I went to college we did all our work longhand or typewriter, but that's another story!!)
This was such a gem. I adored that Jess's girlfriends all considered Sam a *10*. I do, too. If you ever decide to dabble more in this 'verse, I'd love to read it. Thanks for sharing this with us.
