Wow. This almost made me uncomfortable while reading. I really couldn't tell what Sam was thinking, and it seemed to me that he was just going along with it and didn't want it. I still feel bad for Dean here too. He honestly has no idea if Sam really doesn't want it. I don't think he's rationalizing, or if he is he's doing it so subconsciously he'll never realize the truth unless Sam does say something. If Sam really didn't want it, I can understand why he wouldn't say anything-it happened fast, and he was confused and not wanting to disappoint Dean....I'm going to read the sequel and see what Sam was thinking (and I'm hoping it isn't as bad as I'm imaging).
Also I can totally see Dean being more upset about his car than whatever one night stand girl he's with.
